ROLE: Filmmaker / PROJECT TYPE: Video Portrait / EXHIBITION: National Portrait Gallery
Commissioned by the new National Portrait Gallery and ABC TV, the My Favourite Australian exhibition combined the popular votes of the Australian public for their 30 favourite Australians with a number of commissioned artists and filmmakers. For this exhibition I was invited to create a video portrait of ‘unsung hero’ Sue Eddy, a nurse whose work has transformed the lives of war veterans suffering post traumatic stress disorder.
Working with visual artist Peter Kennedy I produced a second portrait – a triptych work featuring refugee advocate Kon Karapanagiotidis, social justice campaigner Tim Costello OA & animal welfare activist Pam Ahern.
